Tamil Nadu's K Vignesh in TNPL

Fast bowlers Basil Thampi and K. Vignesh have left for down under, after being chosen by MRF Pace Foundation for a two-week training at National Cricket Academy in Brisbane, as part of its annual exchange with Cricket Australia.

Earlier, MRF Pace Foundation had signed an agreement of exchange of resources and players for training with Cricket Australia under which bright talents like Thampi and Vignesh will get the invaluable training time at the well-known facilities in Australia.

The duo will be accompanied by the MRF head coach M. Senthilnathan, who was recently quoted by The Hindu saying, “It will be a valuable experience for the boys. They will also undergo 3-D biomechanical tests,”

Thampi, who plays for Kerala in the domestic cricket in India, has made a name for himself by nailing his yorkers in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad and was picked for India's T20I side that traveled to Sri Lanka for the Nidahas Trophy.

Vignesh, the 23-year-old paceman from Tamil Nadu, has been immensely successful in first-class cricket with 61 scalps in 15 matches at 21.86. He can be sharp from an easy uncomplicated action, moves the ball away and does get the odd ball to nip back.

The two youngsters will have a lot to learn during their two-week stay in Australia.
