Global T20 Canada 2018: Warner fails with the bat, shines in the field

Playing for the Winnipeg Hawks in the Global T20 Canada league, David Warner unfortunately failed with the bat in his comeback match scoring just one run before being dismissed by Lasith Malinga. He was castled by  Malinga which in many ways hasn't allowed him to get over his bad days yet.

On the other hand, Steve Smith who is also serving his ban like Warner scored an impressive 61 for his side Toronto Nationals to take his team to victory.

Despite failing with the bat, Warner made up for it on the field as he took three catches and also affected a run out that of Rayyan Pathan for 20. Warner's team won the match by 46 runs thus giving a winning start to the series.

The trio charged after their involvement in the ball tampering scandal is still serving their ban. However, them being involved in the game of cricket will hopefully keep their mind away from the tough time they are encountering in recent times.

Australia without the likes of Warner and Smith failed to win even a match in the recently concluded series against England involving 5 ODIs and a T20I. Former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey has infact said that the likes of Warner and Smith should make a direct entry to the 2019 Australian World Cup squad which will definitely bolster the chances of them defending the title in England next year.
