India’s leading women cricketer Mithali Raj’s professional and personal life is all set to be narrated in her upcoming autobiography that will hit stands later this year.

As per the reports in CricketNext, Penguin India has secured the rights to publish Raj's autobiography last year and it was slated to release in 2018.

Things seem to be going as per the plan since Mithali herself confirmed about the same on Twitter.

"Yep! It’s happening! excited!" Mithali Raj tweeted on Friday (June 29).

"Not only will it (autobiography) be a treat to cherish for her cricketing fans, but also be a captivating story of how an ordinary girl went on to inspire real change and made the world sit up and take notice," a statement from the publishing house stated.

Mithali is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of women’s cricket in India. She captained India into the final of the ICC Women's World Cup in 2017. Apart from leading the team from the front, Mithali was also at her best with the bat during the showpiece event. It was her 109 in a must-win pool game against the White Ferns that secured India’s spot in the semi-final.

Her other notable batting effort came in the inaugural match against the hosts England in Derby, where she scored a well-composed 71 besides getting 46, 53 and 69 against West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia respectively.

As far as Mithali’s overall career is concerned – she has scored 6373 ODI runs for India in 114 matches besides scoring 2026 runs in 76 T20Is. She has also proved her worth in Test cricket, scoring 663 runs at an average of 51 in 10 matches.
