“I haven’t lost it,” says Steve Smith ahead of Global Canada T20 league

Former  Australian captain, Steve Smith said “I haven’t lost it,” as he was spotted batting in three net sessions ahead of the Global Canada T20 league. Global Canada T20 league is all set to start from June 29 where six teams will be competing against each other.

After long three months of the ball-tampering ban, Steve Smith and former deputy David Warner will be once again stepping on the cricket field featuring in Global Canada T20 league. Smith will be playing in the opener of the tournament for Toronto Nationals against Chris Gayle's Vancouver Knights.

The tournament will consist of six teams and in total 22 matches will be played till July 15, 2018. 

Toronto Nationals coach, Phil Simmons admit that Steve Smith looked sharp ahead of their first encounter against Vancouver Knights told AAP, “Steve had a couple sessions in the nets today and he seems to be all right for what he has gone through over the past few months; he seems to be all right,” “It’s great to have Steve among us and I know he is going to do all he can to help us to the top of the table in this league. 

“I think it’s important for Steve just to play cricket and enjoy it again because (the ball-tampering scandal) was very hard on him for him.”

Meanwhile, David Warner will play on the second day of the tournament for Winnipeg Hawks against Montreal Tigers.
