India A gained momentum in the tri-series that is being played in England. After the emphatic win over West Indies-A, India A faced the tough challenge of England Lions once again and they had an account to settle.

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bat first. Hanuma Vihari came into the team and Shubman Gill opened with Mayank Agarwal.

Gill hit 72 off 80 balls in a partnership of 165 in 28.2 overs and impressed everyone. Vihari too scored 69 and Hooda slammed 33 runs.

But the glue that held the Indian innings together was a sublime century by Mayank Agarwal, his second in three matches in this tri-series. Agarwal hit 112 in 104 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes.

This helped India A post 309/6 in 50 overs. Ed Barnard and Matthew Fisher picked two wickets each.

In reply, Shardul Thakur removed Kohler-Cadmore and Gubbins for cheap scores and Prasidh Krishna removed Hain. This left England Lions 32/3 in the 8th over.

England Lions kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Ben Foakes hit 32 and Liam Dawson hit 38, but none went on to get a big score and England Lions couldn't chase down the required total. They were bundled out for 207 runs and India won by 102 runs.

Apart from Thakur’s 3/53, Khaleel Ahmed picked 2/30 in a very good performance with the ball by the Indian bowlers.
