Adil Rashid, England's premier white-ball spinner, has come out and stated that England would've beaten Australia in the ongoing ODI series, even if the visitors had their experienced matchwinners around. 

Australia is bereft of their key players, having lost David Warner and Steve Smith to the ball-tampering scandal. They also didn't have the famous pace-trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins available for selection due to respective injuries ahead of the tussle against the no.1 ranked ODI side but Adil believes, even with them around England would be somewhere to close to a whitewash, like they are right now. 

Ahead of the fifth ODI at Old Trafford, when the reporters asked Rashid whether those five players being around would've made a massive difference, he said, "No, I don't think so. Those players were still playing in Australia -- Steve Smith, Warner, Cummins, Hazlewood. They were still playing. We won 4-1 there, and here it's 4-0, so I think it's very similar."

England are on the verge of a series whitewash, being 4-0 up, against their arch-rivals but Rashid wants England to focus on the processes that have got them here and repeat them in Manchester. 

He said, "We're not talking about that(5-0) at the moment. Once the game's done, if you've got the whitewash, then you've got things to talk about. We can't take it lightly but once know you have one over (a team), you've got (a few) wickets, you know they'll always have that in the back of their minds"

Rashid has 11 wickets in the series and has become England's most successful spinner in ODIs in the process. He now has 106 wickets, which has taken him past the Graeme Swann. 

He talked about this and said, "I'm proud of that, Swanny was a great bowler for England across all formats, so going past him means a lot."

The fifth ODI starts on Sunday, 24th June.
