United Arab Emirates(UAE) fast bowler Mohammed Naveed has big ambitions in the sport for which he has immense love and passion for and one of them is to get the big wicket of David Warner when he bowls against one of the best modern-day batsmen during the upcoming Global T20 Canada League.

Naveed was drafted in by the Toronto Nationals franchise and will be playing alongside big names like Darren Sammy and Steve Smith. Naveed hardly gets to play top-flight cricket and so, he believes, this is a wonderful opportunity for him to make a name for himself.

The tournament has attracted some of the biggest names in cricket, including Chris Gayle, Smith and Warner, while the bowling front is as potent with Tim Southee, Lasith Malinga, Sunil Narine and Sandeep Lamichhane all on the list and Naveed knows how tough it would be to stand out amidst these stars.

The fast bowler with 36 scalps in 27 T20s, was quoted saying, “The target that I want to achieve is to win the best bowler award in the tournament, Today that is what I want. Of course, it will be very difficult but I have great confidence that I can do well in Canada over a series of matches.”

“I have got the wicket of Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle before so my target now is to get David Warner, He is a fantastic players and he is one of the best batsmen in the world. He’s a very aggressive player and those type of batsmen I enjoy taking wickets.”

Despite all the issues that have actually prompted the left-hander from Australia to play this league rather than be in England to play internationally for his country, Naveed says, he has immense respect for David Warner.

You'd wish that Cricket Australia was thinking like Naveed, when he said, “For me, it’s no issue because he’s one of the best batsmen. He did a mistake and he’s accepted that. Now he is moving on from that chapter,”

Naveed is also excited to play alongside Darren Sammy, again. The duo was involved in the Hong Kong T20 Blitz and are now part of the same team in Global T20 Canada League.

He said, “I have been in regular contact with Darren Sammy since that tournament(HK T20 Blitz) and we message all the time. He has always said that he will do his best to get me a deal with one of the teams and I’m very happy to be on the same team”
