Amitabh Choudhary, the acting secretary at Indian Cricket Board (BCCI), hit back at CoA chairman Vinod Rai by saying "he is not entirely telling the truth" for his allegations against him regarding board matters.

Recently Rai has blamed Mr. Choudhary for not cooperating on matters related to player remunerations, the appointment of the Anti-Corruption Unit head, acting unilaterally on the matter of Day & Night Tests and not briefing them or the Board members on matters related to ICC.

On Thursday (21 June), Choudhary told Times of India, “This same secretary was the COA's blue-eyed boy until the 4th status report. What happened then? As far as the ICC matter on Champions Trophy format is concerned, all proposals on tournaments and formats are finalized in CEC meetings. Why is COA blaming me? The CEC precedes board meeting.”

BCCI’s acting secretary opened up about COA's allegations regarding Day & Night Tests, “I have not acted unilaterally. I was accused of taking a policy decision which is incorrect. The decision was taken on June 2016 in Dharamsala. So, after this background work had been executed, I said one Test match can be day and night. Then I took the opinion of the team management who gave it in writing. I never act unilaterally.”

While commenting on not cooperating on player remuneration and appointment of the ACU head, Choudhary said, “My answer is an emphatic yes. And I will not sign it until general body approves it.”

He also revealed that CoA had stopped him from traveling to Sri Lanka for the Nidahas Trophy last year, though he accepted their decision but say they had no authority to stop his visit. Choudhary signed off by saying, “Let me tell you I did not go there only to hold the dignity of Rai's office.”
