After demolishing Australia in the third ODI, England's captain Eoin Morgan admits it's the best period of his career and proudest as well after surpassing Ian Bell as England highest run-getter in ODI's.

England's first innings saw two breathtaking centuries from Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow that led the momentum of the team to a score of 481 in 50 overs. Jonny Bairstow scored 139 runs and on the other hand, Alex Hales was awarded the Man of the Match for his 147.

The 31-year old cricketer is quite pleased with the things that have gone by for his team in the past few matches. He is very confident to win the bilateral series against Australia. Eoin Morgan added, "The best performance by a stretch, I think, definitely."

"The last three years are probably more special than the other guys are feeling at the moment. We've been very lucky with the group of players that we've had. Certainly, this is the best period of my career. And the proudest as well."

In particular, the captain was very pleased with the performances of Alex Hales, Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy. Before the third ODI, Alex Hales admitted that he needs to score big runs to mark his permanent place in England's ODI team. When talking about the team performance against Australia in the third ODI, Morgan added,  It's difficult to keep everybody satisfied. At the end of the day, you're not going to. But we want a squad of players that, by the time the World Cup comes around, the in-form guys are likely to play. All three (Bairstow, Roy, Hales) are putting themselves right at the top of the list at the moment."

Eoin Morgan's sensational knock of 67 runs off 30 balls was very special for him as he surpassed Ian Bell to become England's highest run-getter in ODI. He even talked about how special does he feel to be England's leading run scorer in One-Day Internationals. Eoin Morgan added, "To pass someone like Ian Bell, who has been around a very long time is something that is satisfying. The rate at which I struck it today, you have to. Everybody in the changing room strikes it at that, if not more. It's definitely a young man's game."

"We don't know where the game will be this time next year. If we continue to challenge each other, within the group, and have healthy learning curve between now and next year, we'll be in great nick."

With two games still left in the bilateral series, England have taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match series. Now the home team will push harder to whitewash Australia on their own home turf.

"We've got two more opportunities to win against an Australian thing. But I think with only a day in between the next game, it makes it more difficult for us to put out our strongest team. We'll have to see how they (the bowlers) pull up tomorrow." Eoin Morgan concluded.
