Heino Kuhn, who has registered himself in the history books for scoring 4 List A hundreds in his last five matches, has come out and expressed that he was heartbroken recently for not taking Kent home in a run-chase against Worcestershire. 

This game was the semi-final of the Royal London One-day Cup and Kuhn actually scored a matchwinning 127 for his county but failed to score the closing runs, as he got in the final over of the closely contested match. He was so disappointed and nervous at the time that he didn't even see when the last 4-runs were scored. He only realised that the game is over when everyone in the dressing room jumped in jubilation. 

Kuhn has been quoted saying about match as, “I was heartbroken when I got out. It was my job to take us through and to get out at that stage I was in tears"

“Luckily they pulled it through so I’m very happy. I wasn’t watching at the end. I had my head in my hands but when he hit it I looked up at the screen and the guys were jumping up I thought someone was going to fall off the balcony."

Kuhn, who is the highest run-getter of the competition with 664 at an average of 94.85, further added, “I’m very happy to have contributed to the team to get us to the semi-final and now to Lord’s. I said when I came here I wanted to win trophies and everyone in that changing room’s aim is exactly the same. They play like they want to win trophies and this is one step closer. Come Lord’s we will be up for it.”

Kent will now be playing the final of the Royal London One-day Cup 2018 at the home of cricket, all thanks to Kuhn.
