Each player in this Ireland team has a lot of T20 cricket in him, says Graham Ford

Graham Ford has faith even as Ireland struggle in the current triangular series with Netherlands and Scotland.

Ireland Cricket has reached very far. They are now the 11th Test country, having just played their maiden Test against Pakistan in Malahide this May, but it is their white ball game that is a big worry these days.

Ireland couldn't make it to the 10-team marquee 2019 World Cup in England, having reached below the top 2 in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers this year. Even in T20Is, Ireland is currently ranked 17th and this is a huge concern for their head coach Graham Ford.

Ireland, who are in danger of missing out from the 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia, is currently playing a T20I triangular series against Netherlands and Scotland at home before they play two T20Is games versus India.

Graham Ford, on Saturday, June 16th, was quoted saying by Cricbuzz as, "I don't want to single out individuals, but some players have improved their cricket, some take to this format, but every single player in the group has a lot to offer in T20 cricket. It is just about taking their game forward"

"I am quite excited about the make-up of the group and excited by the talent in the squad. There's a lot of hard work that needs to be done and the boys are up for it, but it's about sharpening the skills before the next World Twenty20 qualifiers."

Ireland have lost 2 and won just one match in the ongoing tri-series. Ford further said, "We have some good strikers of the ball in the squad and good athletes, attributes which are important in T20 cricket, The bowlers are probably going for too many boundaries at the minute, and not squeezing enough dot balls, especially when a new batter comes in. There are so many areas you have to stay on top of, but the guys are aware of them,"

Ireland has their final game against Scotland before they play India on 27th and 29th June and will have to the task of standing up to the no.3 ranked T20 side in the world.
