Ajinkya Rahane to feature for India A side ahead of Tests in England

Most of India's other Test specialists too, could feature for India A.

Indian Vice-Captain Ajinkya Rahane will feature in the Karun Nair led India A squad in the four-day games in England. India A side is seen as a buildup for the five-match Test series between India and England, that will start from August 1.

According to the PTI report, Rahane will be playing India A's game against the England Lions to fine tune his preparation for the all-important Test series.

The right-hander has previously proven his mettle with runs in all conditions, but currently, his game has fallen off the radar a bit. Which, ahead of India's overseas assignments, is a big concern. He could feature in only one Test in South Africa recently, purely because of his form and so, doesn't want to leave any stone unturned ahead of a vital series for his career.

India A will be featuring in a List A triangular with England A and West Indies A before playing 3 four-day games, 2 against WI A and another versus the England Lions. Most of India's Test specialists are likely to feature in these games, as part of their last bit of preparation for the stern challenge that awaits.

India's last two Test series in England resulted in 4-0 and 3-1 and so, the BCCI and Indian team management, led by the Captain Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri, doesn't want to take any chance, for India's overseas record seems to be finally considered a priority.
