Australia would look to square up the five-match ODI series 1-1 when they take on England in the second ODI at Cardiff on Saturday. Australia lost the first ODI and would look to avenge the loss. England bat deep till No 8 in David Willey who played a match-winning cameo of 35* in the first ODI.  Besides, England have quality limited-overs batsmen in Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan, Joe Root and Jos Buttler. Root and Morgan cracked a fifty each in the first ODI to steer the team to 1-0 lead in the five-match ODI series. Australia have Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Shaun Marsh in their batting line-up and they bring a lot of experience to the order. Maxwell cracked a face-saving 62 in the first ODI.England are a strong limited-overs team at home. Australia are without the services of David Warner and Steve Smith. But that is past now. England would start favorites in the second ODI as well.

Best economical pick – Liam Plunkett has picked up at least two wickets in five of his last eight ODIs and will once again be England’s top bet. In four of his last eight ODIs, he ended as the team’s best bowler, a fair indicator of his growing influence.

Top captains & vice captains – Coming into this series, Eoin Morgan faced criticism for England's shocking loss to Scotland a few days ago. The captain pulled out a masterstroke by playing a counter-attacking knock against a relatively potent bowling attack of Australia. He was dismissive against anything that was short and full and made full use of the power-play by sticking boundaries at regular intervals. His knock helped England score more than the required run rate and the game was quickly out of reach of Australia. In his knock of 69 of 74 balls, Morgan struck 11 boundaries to the fence. Last ODI was the first time in six matches that Aaron Finch hasn’t scored a fifty against England. He averages 53.21 against the arch rivals with nine 50+ scores in 21 innings. Australia would dearly love one more in Cardiff.

Smart pick – Travis Head is the mainstay for Australia in the middle order. He has been a consistent performer for them since the last year and a half. He is a hard hitting batsman and can take the game away from the opposition at any given time.

Cautious Pick – England opener Jason Roy has the potential to be one of the most destructive batsmen in limited-overs format but has struggled to find consistency yet. He's often registered a tall score but has followed it up with many low ones which haven't helped his cause. He scored another low score in the first ODI when he got out for a duck in his home ground.

My XI – Eoin Morgan (Captain), Aaron Finch (Vice-Captain), Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Liam Plunkett, David Willey, Travis Head, Alex Hales, Michael Neser, Billy Stanlake, Tim Paine
