Rayudu couldn't score the required mark of 16.1 in the Yo-Yo test to go through.

Indian players appeared for Yo-Yo test ahead of the upcoming tour of Ireland and England. Indian skipper Virat Kohli has successfully cleared the test and is set to lead India in the T20I series against Ireland. Ambati Rayudu, who had a dream run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, may get dropped from the squad after failing in the fitness test on Friday.

Except for Rayudu, others were successful in the Yo-Yo test. Not only he failed, but his score was way below the standard score of 16.1 for Team India. As per the reports, he scored just 14.

A senior BCCI official made it clear that the Andhra Pradesh cricketer will be dropped from the squad. Rayudu last played an ODI for India in 2016 against Zimbabwe.

The result came as surprise for many as everyone was eager to see Rayudu playing for India, especially after his eye-grabbing performance for Chennai Super Kings. He had accumulated 602 runs which included a hundred which was his maiden ton in T20s.

India will play England after the 2-match T20I series against Ireland. Apart from Kohli, MS Dhoni, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kedar Jadhav and Suresh Raina also cleared the test. All the players were comfortable with the test.

India will tour Ireland for T20 Internationals scheduled for 27 and 29 June. They will then clash with England in three T20 Internationals, three ODIs and five Test matches, starting on July 3.
