Just like many of his teammates, India opener KL Rahul likes to get inked on his body. He got his first tattoo when has was only 16 years old. Understandably, Rahul’s mother Rajeshwari was not too impressed on seeing his tattoo at such a tender age.

Recently, Rahul along with his India teammate Ravichandran Ashwin appeared in Vikram Sathaye's popular web-show ‘What the Duck 3’, where the duo spoke their heart out and revealed a few interesting insights about each other.

"My mother gave me a bar of soap. She told me to go wash it off and not act like a kid. I was 16 years old. She thought it was a Boomer [chewing gum] sticker," Rahul said in the show.

Ashwin, who captained Rahul at the Kings XI Punjab, termed the Karnataka batsman a cool dude.

"I saw the version that his mother saw. He is someone who would turn up on a show in shorts," Ashwin quoted.

Rahul’s stocks as a limited-overs batsman have gone a notch above in IPL 2018. The stylish right-hander finished the season with 659 runs from 14 innings and was the leading run-scorer for KXIP.

Thanks to his stellar IPL 2018 campaign, Rahul earned his place back in the national team across all three formats. He is currently featuring in the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Bangalore.

As far as Rahul’s upcoming cricket assignment is concerned – he will play two T20Is against Ireland in Dublin on June 27 and 29 before heading off for the all-important England tour, scheduled to commence on July 3.
