ICC announces its panel of umpires for 2018 - 2019 season

The selection panel consisted of eminent personalities from the cricketing world.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently announced its elite panel of umpires for the 2018 - 2019 season. The announcement regarding the retention of the panel, for the period 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019, was made following the annual review and selection process.

The list includes names of umpires who have made their name in the field of cricket over a long period of time. The selection panel has eminent names from world cricket like Geoff Allardice, ICC Chief Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle, former England player and commentator - David Lloyd, and former India captain and international umpire Srinivas Venkataraghavan.

Umpiring standards have been questioned in recent times both in domestic and international cricket in recent times. ICC has been constantly working on this aspect of the game to help the game move forward in a free and fair manner. ICC constant work behind perfecting this aspect of the game has been one of ICC's major concern in recent times. 

The Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires is Aleem Dar, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Ian Gould, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nigel Llong, Bruce Oxenford, Sundaram Ravi, Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker. 

The Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees consists of David Boon, Chris Broad, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle, Andy Pycroft, Javagal Srinath and Richie Richardson, all of whom are former cricketers.
