Pakistan Cricket Board and PSL franchises have dropped the plan of hosting the entire PSL tournament in the country. According to PCB, only eight PSL matches will be held in Pakistan for the fourth season.

The proposal to embrace the entire next season of PSL in Pakistan was made after Afghanistan Cricket Board and UAE came forward to organise T20 leagues in the Emirates between September 2018 and January 2019. But according to the revised reports, now PCB have agreed to organize only 8 matches out of 34 games in Pakistan.

An earlier statement stated that the nation is not viable enough to organize a month-long event to which the Board and the franchises of PSL decided to have only 8 matches out of 34 games.

“All franchises expressed full confidence in the PCB’s attempts to bring more PSL matches to Pakistan. It was decided that at least eight matches will be held in Pakistan next year,” a PCB official said.

At the time of the meeting, franchise owners urged and requested the board to construct 200 hotel rooms inside the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium in Lahore and Multan Cricket Stadium.

Following the offer of owners, Pakistan cricket regulatory authority has given the matter to a committee to look out in the details proposed by franchises. A firm commitment was made by the sixth franchise that all remaining dues shall be cleared shortly.
