Ajinkya Rahane is currently leading the Indian team against Afghanistan in their historic first Test in Bengaluru. He is the interim skipper for India in this Test after Virat Kohli was ruled out from playing this Test owing to a neck sprain which he suffered in the Indian Premier League 

Following the Test match, Men in Blue will be engaging in a hectic schedule, as India will Ireland for two T20 Internationals later this month and then England for a full series, comprising of 5 Tests, 3 T20Is and 3 One Day Internationals next month.

Meanwhile, Rahane has been going through a difficult phase in his limited overs cricket with the willow, as he has been dropped from both Ireland and England’s limited overs’ tour following his failure since South Africa series and then the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.

However, Rahane has made a name for himself in the Test cricket with a string of brilliant performances with the bat.

It was previously learned that some Indian Test specialists will be sent to England for some match practice before their tour in July, but the decision is yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, Rahane has decided to prepare himself at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai for the Test series in the UK.

However, the stand-in skipper just wants to focus on the Afghanistan Test at the moment and then he will talk to the national selectors concerning the training in England.

As per reports in Sportstar, Rahane said ahead of Bangaluru Test, “That’s what I always do before a tournament; I start my training in Mumbai. I don’t know what will happen after this Test match, but I will definitely have a word with the selectors.”

Noteworthy, Indian are yet to announce their Test squad for the five-match Test series.  Rahane will definitely like to make the most the given opportunity against Afghanistan before UK tour.
