We all were glued to our television sets watching the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup this year and two things stood out about the Indian team that went onto win the title under the coaching and guidance of Rahul Dravid. Indian fast bowlers were quicker than the rest of the world at that level and that India has two prodigiously talented young batsmen. Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill have been outstanding at a very young age.

Shaw who has a lot of flair in his batting and impressed everyone by amassing a lot of runs in domestic cricket for Mumbai and played a key role recently for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League. Shubman Gill has all the freedom in his shot making and yet is judicious in picking the balls he hit. He is technically sound and has had the same journey, via India U-19, Punjab Ranji Team and Kolkata Knight Riders, to India 'A' setup now. 

Yes, the duo were recently selected to play for the Indian 'A' team that is travelling to England to play a series of List A and four-day games alongside the senior team that will be there for a full tour. Prithvi is part of both the squads, while Shubman has been drafted into the List A team that will be contesting a triangular competition with West Indies and England. 

They are very excited about it. Shubman, in fact, took to the social media network Twitter to express his happiness and the camaraderie he shares with his former U-19 Captain by posting their image together. 

He captioned it, "From U19 to India A, it has been a fun ride with this guy @PrithviShaw"

To this Prithvi Shaw quote tweeted and wrote, "Likewise @RealShubmanGill !!!????"

The wonderful gesture and respect for each other from two young and highly talented players is an excellent sign for Indian Cricket.
