England all-rounder Moeen Ali is not too disappointed with his poor performance against Scotland recently. Also, he doesn't want to think about what people are saying about him on his failure. He further said that Scotland played really well and deserved to win the one-off One Day International against England.

The all-rounder also insisted that he is not looking too much at his dismissal and is going to stay true to himself before heading into five-match ODI series against Australia at home, starting from 13 June.

As per reports in Cricbuzz, Ali said of his dismissal against Scotland, “It's all right when you hit them for six, great shot. I'd hit two or three for six. I'm going to stay true to myself and not worry about what people say. There is a lot of negativity around. Scotland played really well, we couldn't stop them from scoring runs and they made it really hard for us and they deserved to win.”

The 30-year-old further added, “You can knock it for one, but Liam [Plunkett] gets out, Rash [Adil Rashid] gets out, and then you're in the same position. From my point of view, it's best not to have any sort of doubt. I tried to hit almost too straight with that one and then tried to drag it slightly.”

Meanwhile, the left-hander has been struggling with the willow for the last few months and it can be said that the innings against Scotland was his best in recent times.  The Englishman said on his batting, “From a personal point, I'm going to keep enjoying how I bat, I feel like I've found a bit of rhythm. Obviously, in an ideal world, you want to knock them off and win the game. The ball was there to hit and I just mis-hit it.”

On being asked about his fitness, Ali said, “My fitness is all right, always decent, not great. Not the best, not the worst. I think cricket is a skill game anyway. There are worse than me in the squad. I've always been in the middle, that's what I am, a middleman.”

Commenting on his place in the Test squad, the spinner said, “I'll just wait and see what happens", but feels that being dropped for the last match of the New Zealand tour and missing the Pakistan series has given him the clarity to he has to rediscover his best form to play Tests.

He signed off by saying, “I feel good in my game, batting and bowling. Try to stick to my mindset and not let anyone change that. Go out the team in the Test side, sit down and realize that you have to be true to yourself. I'd rather get dropped playing the way I want to play rather than playing the way people want me to play. So that's what I'm going to do.”
