Indian women's team were favorites to win the recently concluded Women's Asia cup T20. But Bangladesh women's team stunned everyone in a thrilling final, defeating the mighty Indian team and clinching the title.

The women in blue faced only two defeats in the tournament and both came against the same opposition, Bangladesh. Bangladesh pulled off a dramatic three-wicket victory in the final against six-time champions India in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

Indian women's team saw a rise in support and popularity post the Women's World Cup last year. They had performed much better than the expectations and even thrashed the mighty Aussies in the semifinal. However, the loss in the final took away the chance of lifting the trophy. But the tournament ensured women cricketers also get recognization.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian T20I skipper took to Instagram to write about the heartbreaking loss. She asked the fans and followers to continue their support.

Harmanpreet shared a picture of her and wrote her message for fans. "Beyond the 22 yards, the wides and the no-balls, the fours and the sixes, the ducks and the centuries, the win and the loss, lies the inevitable element of cricket – a wave of several good and bad emotions. After the determination and hard-work, one puts in on the field, being on the losing side is always a pill hard to swallow. This was a heart breaking defeat. It was a tough journey , we all took strides yet the stars were not in our favour. The entire nation was hoping for us to bring the Asia cup back home for the seventh time . The team did thrive for the same . We did fight but then in cricket there is always a bad day ..... With all my heart I am conveying this to all of you that, I am seeking for the love and support that we have always got from our fans and followers . Continue showing your faith and trust in us . We will bring back Glory ❤️❤️ Big thanks to all ???? Rab Rakha.....????. [Sic]"
