Australians are all set to take on the number one ranked One Day side England on Wednesday (13 June) in the first ODI of the five-match series at Kennington Oval without their premier players, but spinner Ashton Agar is confident that the refreshed Kangaroos will do well in England.

Recently, England were thrashed out by Scotland in one-off One Day International by 6-runs in Edinburgh and Agar terms their defeat as Australia’s morale booster, as well as said it will be good for them that they are coming into the ODI series on the back os a loss.

However, he admitted that England are a really dangerous side and they can't take them lightly  in their own backyard.

As per reports in Cricbuzz, Agar said, “It was a really interesting game yesterday, good for us that England lost that game, great for Scotland as a country, and as a cricketing nation, it's really exciting for them. It's about momentum and having had a couple of practice games and got a couple of wins, it's great for us. For us, it's good that England didn't win because you always want to start with a win.”

The Aussie also noted England's inability to finish off the game despite having a good stand between Moeen Ali and Liam Plunkett against Scotland, hoping to do the same with them in ODIs. He further added, “At the end, England didn't really finish the job. I hope they will be hit by that. For us, it's great England did not win because you always like to go into a series with a win. But they're a really dangerous side and you can't ever take them lightly. We need to bring our A-game and be ready to go.”

Agar signed off by saying, “Everyone's saying it's a new era of Australian cricket and we've got a nice, refreshed feeling in the group. We've prepared really nicely with our last couple of practice games so we've got good momentum.”
