Afghanistan's tall left arm fast bowler Shapoor Zadran has come out and stated that he is extremely desperate to play in the Indian Premier League and that he would love to play in the three time champions Mumbai Indians' team in the toughest T20 competition of the world.

Shapoor who was recently playing the T20 Internationals series against Bangladesh in Dehradun, was quoted saying, “Every cricketer wants to play in the big leagues across the world and I have the same desire. I am confident of playing in the IPL and the Big Bash during the upcoming season, I would love to play for Mumbai Indians as they are my favourite team.”

Shapoor has always had troubles with injuries which, he admits, have hampered his progress at the highest level. He talked about this and said, “For one year I wasn’t in the team. Injuries hampered my progress. But I have developed several skills for T20’s during that period. I am focussing a lot on variations as well. But pace remains my primary weapon as batsmen find it difficult to negotiate,”

Shapoor knows that for a country that has Rashid Khan, fast bowling might not be the first choice skill and priority of his nation's cricket culture but he wants to do as much as he can, to be its valuable contributor.
