Shahid Afridi names his favorite team for FIFA World Cup 2018

The highly-anticipated 2018 edition of the biggest footballing extravaganza – FIFA World Cup is all set to get underway on 14 June (Thursday) in Russia and sports personalities across the globe have been started predicting their winners and picking their favorites teams for the title.

Recently, legendary Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi picked Germany as his favorite team and wants to see them lift the FIFA World Cup 2018 title. Meanwhile, Germany will open their FIFA World Cup 2018 campaign against Group F’s Mexico on 17 June in Russia.

As per reports in Brecorder, Afridi told the reporters at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium, “Germany have always been favorite for me. They were my favorite for the last tournament and in this tournament as well.”

Recently, former Pakistan skipper has led the ICC World XI against the West Indies in the Hurricane Relief T20 fund-raiser at the Lord’s, where Afridi had received a Guard of Honor as it was his last international match and he felt lucky to got such honor here.

On his farewell match, Afridi said, “It is not only an honour for me but it is an honour for Pakistan that I led the all starts XI against West Indies. I couldn’t have asked for a better farewell game”.

Pakistan legend has also given credit to Law Enforcement Agencies for the success of Ramazan Cricket tournaments in the country.

He signed off by saying, “There are good tournaments being organized in Ramazan across Pakistan, but especially in Karachi. I think they should be held regularly. Credit goes to Law Enforcement Agencies for the success of such tournaments.”
