Former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag is always known for his explosive batting skills and being a nightmare for all the bowlers around the world.
He recently recalled a funny story involving former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq on the show What the Duck, hosted by Vikram Sathaye. He has revealed once Inzamam-ul-Haq changed the field to let him hit a six.
Virender Sehwag also has enjoyed a great bond with some of the Pakistani cricketers. He said Inzamam-ul-Haq changed the field to let him hit a six and Danish Kaneria was left furious at bowlers' end.
Inzamam-ul-Haq who has been considered as one of the most successful players in cricket was the leading run scorer for Pakistan in the ODIs. Due to his calm nature, he shares a lovely bond with Indian cricketers.
On the show of What the Duck, Sehwag shares an interesting story relating to Inzaman-ul-Haq letting him strike Danish Kaneria for a six after changing the field.
Virender Sehwag opens up on the story, saying, "I think we were playing a Test match in Bangalore and I was in a very good form in that series, I made 201 in the first innings, so I was batting and Inzamam Ul Haq was standing in the slips and Kamran Akmal was the keeper. The batting went on for long so long off, long on and mid wicket were all in place and Dinesh Kaneria was continuously bowling on pads. So I told Inzy bhai, Call the long on ahead. He asked me why? And I said I want to hit a six," Sehwag revealed on the show.
The long on fielder was called ahead for the next ball, the delivery went onto Sehwag's pad and again Danish Kaneria was dispatched for a six over long-on. Danish Kaneria went on to the captain that why did he remove the fielder and Sehwag hit him for a six.
"He laughed and said You're kidding, I said no I am not. call him ahead for one ball and if I don't hit a six send him back. So he called long on to mid on, Kaneria bowled and I hit him for a six and then he sent him back. Kaneria got really angry. He was like Inzy bhai (Inzamam) why did you call him ahead. He replied you just bowl," Sehwag told Vikram Sathaye on his show.
Virender Sehwag had the company of Sachin Tendulkar on the show of What the Duck, also told and regarded Inzamam-ul-Haq as a very good person with revealing once Inzaman-ul-Haq brought his son to meet his favourite cricket star.
Inzamam has played for Pakistan in 120 Tests and 378 ODIs with scoring more than 20,000 runs in International cricket before retiring in 2007.
