Sachin Tendulkar recalls a beautiful memory involving Inzamam-ul-Haq

Sachin Tendulkar and Inzamam-ul-Haq have mutual respect for each other.

The memories are what remains. India and Pakistan hardly play against each other these days, but there were days when players like Sachin Tendulkar and Inzamam-ul-Haq would play hard fought cricket on the field and share fond moments off it.

Recently the former Indian Cricketer and the greatest batsman of our game was present on the show "What the duck" hosted by the famous comedian Vikram Sathaye and he recalled a heartwarming gesture that he received from Inzamam during one of India's cricket tour to Pakistan.

Sachin, who has admiration for the way his Pakistani counterpart played the game, said, “We had a practice session in Lahore and before we began Inzi brought his son to me & said ‘He’s a big fan and wants to meet you’. With the rivalry we had and Inzi was Pakistan captain, to say something like this to a player from the other team takes a lot,”

One great player to the other, Inzamam telling Sachin that his son is a big fan of his and Tendulkar realising how invaluable and big that gesture is, is what makes our sport a mutual admiration society. It tells us how unbound the players are and have always been, from the hatred that people mistake the India-Pakistan rivalry for across the border.
