Indian Women team continued their dominance in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup T20 as they thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan by seven wickets at Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (June 9).

Opting to bat first, Pakistan batswomen never looked settled during their innings with only Nahida Khan (18 runs off 27 balls) and Sana Mir (20 runs off 38 balls) crossing the double-digit mark. Ekta Bisht was the stand-out bowler for India as she claimed 3 for 14 in her 4 overs. Shikha Pandey, Anuja Patil, Deepti Sharma and Poonam Yadav also claimed wicket apiece as India restricted Pakistan to 72/7 in 20 overs.

In reply, India got off to a terrible start with Anam Amin removing both Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma for a duck. The Women in Blue were tottering at 5 for 2 before ace opener Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur forged a 65-run stand to almost seal the deal.

After Mandhana’s dismissal on 38, Harmanpreet (34 runs off 49 balls) along with Anuja Patil completed the formalities and saw the side home with 23 balls to spare. Ekta Bisht was adjudged Man of the Match for her stellar bowling performance.

With this win, India secured their spot in the final of Women's Asia Cup and will take on either Pakistan or Bangladesh in the summit clash on Sunday (June 10).
