The famous 'Yo-Yo' test is mandatory for the senior Indian Cricket Team to assess fitness and stamina to get selected for the International cricket and it seems that India 'A' side is following something different to it.

According to a report in Sportskeeda, India A players have been gone through the unique system to track the fitness during the training sessions at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

It is learned that some players were told to wear small, black vests and some wore it as the innermost fitting, right on their skin, while some of them wore it on top of their jerseys Just before the session began at NCA, later a small device was fitted inside the vest, on their back, just below their neck.

It is being said that the device is called APEX, a product of STATSports, a GPS player tracking company based in Ireland, which can calculate as many as 50 metrics in real time, right from speed intensity, acceleration, to heart rate and step balance (the measure of impact on the left and right leg).

Recently, the company signed a deal with the Brazilian Football Confederation ahead of next World Cup. This company’s products have been used by popular football clubs likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Arsenal, English, and Irish Rugby sides, as well as, used in the NBA and NFL.

Meanwhile, the company’s support staff has analyzed players’ metrics as they practiced at NCA and following the net sessions, the players approached the analysts to read their numbers.
