Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar on Thursday (June 7) was named in the India under-19 squad for the tour of Sri Lanka later this month.

In the past, Arjun has also represented Mumbai’s under-14 and under-16 teams but he grabbed eyeballs when he gave an injury scare to England wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow during the net-session at Lord’s in July last year.

In contrast to his father, Arjun is more fascinated towards fast bowling and he often spotted in the nets rolling his left arm. During the 2017 Women’s World Cup in England, he was seen bowling to the Indian women’s batter in the nets.

India will travel to Sri Lanka later in June for the series. The four-day squad will be led by Delhi wicketkeeper-batsman Anuj Rawat. The one-day squad will be led by Aryan Juyal.
