Ajinkya Rahane celebrated his 30th birthday on Wednesday (6 June) and wishes poured in from all corners of the cricketing fraternity with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan on his special day.

However, Indian captain Virat Kohli made a late entry to the bandwagon to wish his Test deputy, but he came up with the most fitting birthday wish for Rahane.

The right-hander is all set to lead India in the one-off Test against Afghanistan in the absence of injured Kohli, who is currently recovering from the neck problem that he sustained during the IPL 2018.

Rahane has decent IPL 2018, scored 370 runs in the 15 matches for Rajasthan Royals and Kohli is hoping to see him play those crucial knocks which he is so accustomed too in overseas Test matches.

Kohli wrote on his official Twitter for Rahane, “The overseas season is about to start and here's wishing one of the finest we've got, @ajinkyarahane88, a very Happy Birthday Jinx. ???? Keep playing those crucial knocks! ????”

In the current Indian set-up, Ajinkya is the only batsman who has the decent batting average in England than home and Kohli is hoping to see another brilliant show with the willow from the Mumbai batter this overseas season. They will also set to tour Australia later this year.

Meanwhile, Rahane has celebrated his special day with NSG blackcats and commandoes, as the Rajasthan Royals official Twitter handle shared a tweet where Rahane is seen to spend some time with the NSG commandoes.
