India’s Test specialists Cheteshwar Pujara is currently plying his trade for Yorkshire in the ongoing Royal London One-Day Cup, where his county side has been doing well having won four matches in seven outings one of which was cancelled due to rain.

On Tuesday (5 June), Pujara could not contribute much in the team’s cause getting run out for just 19, but England’s David Willey stunning all-round display helped Yorkshire to beat Lancashire by 16 runs in a One-Day Cup match at the Old Trafford in Manchester.

Batting first, Yorkshire posted a massive total of 379 on the board with the help of Adam Lyth's 144 and Willey's 131 in Manchester. In reply, though Lancashire had a decent start but Willey‘s outstanding fast-bowling broke the batters,  as he picked up 4 wickets to bowl them out at 363 inside 49 overs.

With this win, Yorkshire moves to the third spot in the North Group table, while Lancashire slips to the sixth position. Now, the Yorkshire will lock horns against the Northamptonshire on Thursday (7 June) at Headingley.

Meanwhile, Pujara is getting a taste of the English conditions while playing county cricket before heading into the five-match Test series starting here in August and this experience will certainly help him in doing well during the series.

On the other hand, the Indian batsman would not available for the remaining matches of the Royal London One-Day Cup for Yorkshire if they qualify for the final leg of the tournament, as Pujara will have to travel India for Afghanistan Tests starting on 14 June.
