Youngster Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been exceptional ever since he has started playing on the world stage. Growing up he has designed himself with extremely unique action, that allows him to bowl both off-spinner as well as the leg-spinner. It is this uniqueness that attracted the Indian Premier League franchise Kings XI Punjab towards him as they purchased him into their squad at the auction this January and he didn't disappoint at all.

Mujeeb went onto play 11 games in this season of the toughest T20 league in the world and picked up 14 wickets at an excellent economy rate of 6.99.

Recently Mujeeb gave an insight into his game to TOI and said, “I used to bowl to my uncle from a very young age. And I bowled with a mindset that I was already playing at the international level. Right from the beginning, I got a chance to bowl to international players,”

Mujeeb is hard to talk because of language issues and hence he says his translator to communicate, He knows “No English or Hindi. Only Pashto,” and go on to also fondly explain, “Cricket is my language. I bank on my cricketing knowledge. I understand what is being told to me, the language doesn’t matter. I understand cricketing stuff.”

Growing up, apart from working hard over what he does, he says, “I watched Ajantha Mendis, Sunil Narine and Ravichandran Ashwin bowling different type of balls. That fascinated me. I kept watching the videos and grew with it,”

The best moment from his first IPL season, he says, is to get the wicket of the best-limited overs batsman in the world, Virat Kohli. In a match against Royal Challengers Banglore, Mujeeb bowled Virat through the gate via the sexiest googly that one can recall. He is quite modest about it, though and technically explained, “I observed his footwork very minutely. I drew him forward and exposed the gap.”
