Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran has come out and stated that he is extremely saddened by the regular bomb blasting that takes place back home and kills thousands of innocent Afghanis.

Afghanistan is a war-torn place owing and their cricketers don't get to play any of the international cricket at home. These tragic incidents hurt them and mentally effects the cricketers but once they step onto the field, as Shapoor says, they have to go through the enormity of forgetting the disastrous and focus on the job in hand.

He was recently quoted saying to the PTI that, "They (blasts) keep happening but we have to forget that. Every month there is an attack. We are on tour mostly, what option do we have? We have to put it behind and focus 100 percent on the game, Shapoor, who is leading the pace attack in the T20 series against Bangladesh,"

Shapoor, who is currently in India to play the T20 international series against Bangladesh in Dehradun, hasn't played a first-class game for the last few years because of his regular injuries and hence, rightfully, he has not been picked in the country's inaugural Test match against India this June. He understands the situation as well, as he said, "It is disappointing to miss out but I have not been able to play four-day cricket because of injuries. I am fit now and can still hit 140 kmph consistently but I am focusing mainly on limited overs cricket"

"I have been playing the game for 16 years now and it feels really proud to see that Afghanistan cricket has come such a long way. Never thought we would be playing a Test match against India, said the lanky left-arm pacer"

But, he is determined to serve his nation for as long as he can.

"I think I still have a lot of cricket left in me. I will play as long as I am fit. I want to retire after playing a playing an international match in Afghanistan"

Shahpoor has the dream of playing in the Indian Premier League one day, he saw three of his teammates play in it this season. He was quoted saying about this as, "This time we had three players (Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Zadran) in the IPL. The number will only increase next season. I learnt a lot while playing the Bangladesh Premier League. Hopefully, I will get a chance in the IPL"
