England cricket board has given green signal to the Sussex all-rounder Jofra Archer to represent England in the upcoming Ashes season and ICC World Cup 2019 as well. As per the reports, the Barbados-born cricketer is now eligible to play for England in the upcoming Ashes series that will take place in 2019.

Jofra Archer who has played for West Indies U-19 had a great Big Bash league through which he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a huge amount of Rs 7.20 crore in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League.

According to the present rules and regulations scenarios in England, the all-rounder has to fulfill a seven-year allowance period, that means Archer has to reside in England for 210 days annually which suggests he can participate for England after 2022. But there are certain schemes through which the process of his selection in England's team can fasten.

Jofra Archer has the right to live and work in Britain plus a UK passport because he did not come to England until he was 18 years old. England cricket board specifies that he has to be in residence for a period of 7 years before getting elected to play for England cricket.

According to the ICC regulations, the players who move to a country after they become 18 years old need to finish a residency period of four years, but ECB increased the to seven years in 2012.

Archer's case is moving at a fast speed so that he can represent England in the World Cup and Ashes series which are scheduled in 2019.

Jofra Archer even had a good season of IPL for Rajasthan Royals with taking 15 wickets and moreover he had a huge hand behind Royals playoff chances with the spinning combination Shreyas Gopal and K Gowtham.
