Australia's left-hand middle-order batsman, Shaun Marsh feels he can grab a place in Australia squad for the upcoming one-day series against England and it would be more appropriate for him to bat at the top order for his nation. He is confident enough to make a comeback for his nation as Australia's two main players, Steve Smith and David Warner are out of the team till the next March.

It will be interesting to see if Shaun Marsh can have a place in the squad under the newly appointed coach, Justin Langer. After the ball tampering scandal, Australia has three empty spots at their top order.

Shaun Marsh has been batting lower the order and if he gets a chance to bat up in the order, maybe he can win matches in the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner.

"I've been pretty flexible over the years, I've scored runs at the top of the order, I've scored runs in the middle order," Marsh told Cricket Australia's official website in London, where he's with Australia's ODI squad.

"It's a fair way away. I just want to put my focus and energy on the next few months for Australia and Glamorgan.

"If the captain did want (me to open), then I'd feel comfortable but we'll see what happens."

Shaun Marsh made his Test debut in 2011 against Sri Lanka and till now he has played 32 Test matches for his team scoring more than 2000 runs at an average of 37.6.  Shaun Marsh is an enigmatic Australian batsman of the modern era, Shaun Marsh's career has been a case of incredible talent combining with startling inconsistency.

Shaun Marsh's extraordinary batting in the Ashes left Australia with their foot on England's throat.

On asking about his interest in County cricket, the batsman said, "I had a bit of a taste of county cricket last year (with Yorkshire) and when the opportunity came up again to come over here in the winter I jumped at it".

"There have been some difficult conditions to play in and the Dukes ball has been nipping around a bit but I've enjoyed the challenge.
