Zimbabwe Cricket Team have reportedly issued an ultimatum to their country's Cricket Board, asking the Zimbabwe Cricket to pay them handsomely along with the match fees by June 25 otherwise they will boycott the upcoming T20 International series at home.

The cricketers have not yet received the salary for the last three months, as well as, the match fees from their Sri Lanka tour last July and due to they have already refused to not take part in the net session ahead of the tri-series, including Pakistan and Australia as well to sent an open warning to the Zimbabwe Cricket Board.

Zimbabwe is scheduled to host Australia and Pakistan for a T20I tri-series, seven T20Is staring from 1 July at Harare Sports Club, which will host all the matches from the two series. 

A Zimbabwe board official told ESPN, “Due to a very difficult financial situation beyond its control, ZC has been unable to meet some of its obligations, including paying the player and staff salaries in time. However, because this is a matter of top priority, ZC has been working round the clock to address the challenge and, as promised to the players by our chairman, ZC expects to start processing payments this week.”

Meanwhile, ZC has appointed the South African Vincent van der Bijl as a consultant "with immediate effect" on Monday (4 June) to revive the Zimbabwean cricket.  

The board has issued a statement that reads, “He will assist ZC in all cricket matters, working closely with the board, the executive and national team management to map out a positive, constructive path forward. The move … is part of a major initiative by ZC to restructure its domestic and international cricket.”
