Chris Woakes, England's right arm all-rounder has also been ruled out of the friendless and lonely ODI against Scotland due to soreness in his quadriceps muscles owing to which he has asked to rest and Tom Curran has been asked to replace the injured player.

There will a judgment carried out this week to check if the right-arm pacer is fit to represent his side against Australia in the upcoming series. This is not for the first time an injury has occurred to Woakes with the same kind of affect which earlier forced him to be ruled out of the 2017 series against South Africa.

Besides Woakes getting out of the squad, another England all-rounder Ben Stokes also have been withdrawn from the match against Scotland. Ben Stokes will miss the match against Scotland and also the early part of the Australia series.

Tom Curran who has been called as the replacement for injured Woakes has recently played five matches for Kolkata Knight Riders with picking six wickets at an economy of 11.6 runs. Despite his poor IPL performance, Curran has good numbers for England in One-Day Internationals. He has picked up 12 wickets in eight matches, including one five-wicket haul against Australia earlier this year.
