On Sunday, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced that England left-hand all-rounder has been ruled out of the one-day international against Scotland and the first half of the five-match series against Australia due to a torn hamstring.

Ben Stokes injured his left hamstring against Pakistan in the second Test which was set to be played at Headingley. The left-hand all-rounder was replaced by debutant pace-bowler Sam Curran. 

"England all-rounder Ben Stokes will miss the ODI against Scotland in Edinburgh and will be unavailable for the first part of the five-match Royal London ODI series against Australia as he recovers from a left hamstring tear," indicated an ECB statement. 

The 26-year old cricketer will be determined later this week for further rehabilitation stating Stokes will "continue his rehabilitation programme and will return to his county side Durham on Monday". 

Dawid Malan who has been playing frequent cricket has been added into the squad against Scotland game in Edinburgh. The game is set to be played on June 10.

Meanwhile England middle-order batsman, Sam Billings has been selected for the series against Australia which sees England on the top of ICC ODI's ranking ahead of India placed in the second position. England's campaign will get started at the Oval cricket stadium on June 13, 2018.
