MS Dhoni caught eyes with his batting performances this IPL season. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper was out-of-form in the T20 format and was counted out as a 20-over batsman. But his bat silenced everyone as he scored 455 runs in 16 matches with an average of 75.83.

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan thinks it's better for Indian cricket as World Cup is coming near. Speaking to Times Now, he said: "Dhoni's return to form is extremely important considering that this one year will be vital with World Cup in sight".

It always helps the team when an experienced player like Dhoni comes back in full flow. India is preparing for the major ICC event in 2019 and 36-year-old's contribution is key for his side.

India and Pakistan will be against each other once again during the World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford. Dhawan said it's India's time to take revenge of Champions Trophy 2017 defeat in the final. The men in blue haven't lost a single match against Pakistan in World Cup and Dhawan says they want to maintain it.

"Pakistan defeated us in Champions Trophy and now we will be playing them in World Cup. We will look to beat them and keep our perfect track record intact in the World Cup," Dhawan said on the sidelines of the CEAT Cricket Awards in Mumbai.
