Josh Hazlewood joins fellow pacers Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc in the list of injured players who will miss the five one-day internationals and a solitary T20I during Australia’s tour of England next month. Hazlewood, who has represented Australia in 41 ODIs and 7 T20Is, was forced out of the trip to England with back soreness.

Uncapped Queensland quick Michael Neser has been named as Hazlewood’s replacement in an already inexperienced Aussie squad which is also missing the services of the tainted trio – Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft.

"Josh has been managing some low level bone stress in his lumbar spine for a short period," Cricket Australia physiotherapist David Beakley quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

"He had a repeat scan today and although it has not progressed to a fracture he is starting to experience some lower back pain. As such, we are taking a conservative approach and he will not travel to England for the one-day series," he added.

Neser will join the rest of the squad in England. The 28-year-old has played 38 List A games thus far and has claimed 41 wickets at an average of 36.60.
