Australian top-order batsman Chris Lynn has invited the South African star AB de Villiers to join his Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Brisbane Heat for the upcoming season of the T20 event following his unexpected retirement from the International arena on Wednesday (23 May).

At the moment, there is number 3 slot open in the Brisbane Heat line-up and Lynn, who is currently busy in playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL 2018, has expressed his desire to fill up this vacant slot by one of the greatest batsmen in the history of the game of cricket.

Certainly, Heat Management would also like to acquire the services of the charismatic Proteas batsman for the coming season. However, De Villiers is yet to make his BBL debut and following his retirement, he might think about Lynn’s proposal to play in the Australian T20 tournament.

On 23 May, De Villiers called time on all format of the game via a video on his official Twitter with immediate effect that shocked the entire cricket world.

The 34-year-old right-hander played 114 Test, 78 T20Is and 228 ODIs in which he scored 8765, 1672, and 9577 runs respectively in his one and half decade long cricketing career for South Africa.

With the latest development, De Villiers, who has been a major part of the IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) over the years, will possibly make himself available for T20 events across the globe, and the BBL will certainly be a top choice to play in.

Meanwhile, Lynn went on his official social media handle on Thursday (24 May) to invite AB to the Brisbane Heat brigade for the upcoming BBL season. His post reads, “Want to bat 3 for the @HeatBBL @ABdeVilliers17 ???? I know a bloke...”
