IPL 2018: Kuldeep Yadav rates Ajinkya Rahane’s wicket as the turning point of the Eliminator

KKR will play Sunrisers Hyderabad on 25 May to qualify for the IPL 2018 final.

Indian wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has once again done magic for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their most crucial encounter, the Eliminator of the IPL 2018 against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday at Eden Gardens.

He played a key role in KKR’s 25-run win over RR, taking the crucial wicket of Rajasthan skipper Ajinkya Rahane, while conceding only 18 runs in his given 4 overs in Kolkata.

On Wednesday (23 May), Kuldeep sent Rahane pavilion at a very crucial stage of the match. His wicket came over when RR was at 109/1 in the 15th over, which was the turning point of the match, and his dismissal turned the match in favor of the hosts.

Rahane (46 off 41 balls) opened innings for Royals, involving in two partnerships; 47 with Rahul Tripathi and 62 with Sanju Samson, and could have become a serious threat for KKR, but Kuldeep dismissed him for the second time in the crucial encounter of the IPL 2018. It was the third time Kolkata thrashed Rajasthan in the ongoing season of the T20 event.

On being asked about Rahane’s wicket at the post-match conference, Kuldeep said his wicket has always crucial and could turn things anytime, and there was not a special technique to dismiss him.

As per reports in Hindustan Times, Kuldeep told reporters, “I don’t know, seriously. Yes, it was very important to get that wicket because Ajju Bhai (Rahane) was batting well. I didn’t do anything different, just bowled a googly in a good area.”

Now, KKR will play Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final Qualifier of the IPL 2018 on 25 May at Eden Gardens.
