Virat Kohli, Captain of the Indian Cricket Team, is all set to play under Rory Burns during his English County stint with Surrey. Rory will lead Kohli in three List A and three First-Class games for Surrey.

At the moment, Kohli is leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, and hoping to win Saturday's (19 may) encounter against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) to make it to the IPL Playoffs 2018. The 29-year-old right-hander will head to England to join the Surrey squad after the conclusion of the IPL 2018.

Meanwhile, Burns is one of the most consistent batsmen in England, and has more than 1,000 runs in each of the past four English domestic seasons.

Rory has also played 96 First-Class, 42 List A and 31 T20s matches for Surrey, and he will take charge of the county side with one of the world’s best batsman Kohli as a part of the squad.

According to the Surrey deal, Kohli will be in England until June 28, and Ajinkya Rahane will lead India in his absence against Afghanistan in their historic Test, while he would also miss India’s first T20 International in Ireland on 27 June and might only join the national squad in one condition if he fly on the same day of end of his First-class matches with the county side. However, it is yet to confirm whether the dashing batsman would be available for Ireland series or county matches.

Meanwhile, it would be great to see Kohli’s play in India’s forthcoming England series post his return to County stint, as all eyes will be on him throughout the series in July 2018, as the captain has a poor series last time in England, scored just 134 runs from 10 innings at a poor average of 13.40.
