England are a team I feel comfortable playing against, says Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch, the right-hand Australian opening batsman, has come out and stated that he is happy to have been appointed the vice-captain of the limited-overs side for the tour of UK and that he feels very comfortable playing against England.

Aaron Finch boasts five centuries, close to 1000 runs and an average of 55.11 against England. Which may be a big reason why he feels so.

He was quoted saying to the cricket.com.au. that, "They're a team that I feel comfortable playing against, they've had a fair amount of success against me personally as well. I think it's just the way they play their cricket that suits my game. They're a team that I've seen in the past once you get in, their attack generally goes into a bit more of a defensive mindset to allow that player to get off strike and bowl a majority of the balls to a new batter"

"That plays into my hands but they've still got a quality bowling lineup, they've still got an attack that can knock you over at the top of the innings. Adil Rashid has been in good form, he's a quality spinner along with Moeen Ali as well."

At home, as well, Finch has dominated England, he recently scored 107, 106 and 62 in the first three games of the ODI series played in January.

Currently in India playing for the Kings XI Punjab. Finch further added, "The last two series against India (250 runs at 83.33 in a 4-1 series loss) and then England (4-1 loss) I performed well personally in terms of output of runs but we still didn't win a hell of a lot of games,"

"For me, that was disappointing to score runs and not win. There was a real opportunity for me to go and get some match-winning hundreds and I didn't do that, so that was disappointing. That will be something that I'm looking to change"

"In four-day cricket, my game has been reasonably consistent over the past couple of years so hopefully you're seeing a more consistent player. I'm comfortable with where my game is at. There's still a lot of improving to do but I'm feeling good about it."

Looking back the last ODI series against the arch-rivals, which Australia lost at home 4-1, Finch said, "We got outgunned last time, They played a high-risk game that came off. I'm not saying we have to play as high-risk as them but they played very well. Their spinners bowled incredibly well through the middle of the innings, their batters fired when they were under pressure. We've got to be a little bit more consistent, a bit better just for longer"

He further added, "We showed some great signs, some great ability to get into a contest but then we let it slide in a few opportunities where we had a chance to put the foot down, and I was responsible for a couple of them. Getting out for 107 and 106 that left us hanging and left us 20-30 runs short when we had an opportunity to push on and get 330-340 and put a huge amount of pressure on them. I think it's just polishing up a couple of areas here and there"

"We were still very close. The scoreline didn't look flattering but I think it was a couple of percent here and there in all facets and we would've been right there" concluded Finch.
