The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not in any mood to give permission to the former Indian pacer Sreesanth to express his cricketing talent across the globe, as the governing body openly rejected his plea to play English County Cricket.

Recently, Sreesanth sought permission to play in English County Cricket in the view of the fact that he was discharged in IPL spot-fixing case imposed by the BCCI by a single-judge bench of Kerala High Court last year. Former pacer also said that he had suffered a lot in the last four years due to the ban on him.

However, a division bench of the high court had later restored the ban following a petition filed by the Indian Cricket Board against the single-judge bench’s order.

As per reports in IANS, a senior BCCI lawyer Parag Tripathi told the Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra that the apex cricketing body has appealed against the order discharging Sreesanth while opposing the plea of a relaxation of the lifetime ban playing with a "heavy heart".

Tripathi also told the Hon. Supreme Court that an inquiry had found him in touch with the bookies through an intermediary, and it was not just a matter of law but also that of the BCCI code.

Now, the Apex court has asked the Delhi High Court to make a decision by July end regarding the appeal challenging a trial court order discharging Sreesanth and other players over the spot-fixing case.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices AM Khanwilkar said it understood Sreesanth’s “anxiety” to play, but would like to wait for the high court’s decision.
