Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar once again showed why he is a legend by financially supporting Indian wheelchair cricket team when they were struggling for financial support for their recent Bangladesh tour.

Mumbai Mirror reported that Tendulkar had provided air tickets and financial support in time to the players for their Bangladesh tour, where they played a bilateral three-match series after International Cricket Council (ICC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) pulled out their hands from help.

Pradeep Raj, the organizer of wheelchair cricket in India, has thanked the Indian batting legend for his priceless help, saying “We’re immensely grateful to Sachin. But for him, it would have been difficult for us to undertake the tour.”

He added, “Sachin’s help has come to our rescue in many ways. Immediately, the financial support has helped us pull off the tour which could have materialized without it. In future, it could help us further.”

Even, the national side also didn’t disappoint Tendulkar for his effort, as they returned with the series win 2-0 against the hosts Bangladesh. However, India possibly could whitewash the Tigers but rain washed out the first game

The Indian team also received a warm welcome at the Delhi Airport on 9 May, as Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Kishan Pal Gurjar were there to welcome the 19-member squad.

Even the players have also invited by another Union Minister, Thawarchand Gehlot to Shastri Bhawan.

Noteworthy, the Wheelchair cricket the similar rules like the usual game of cricket, but only boundaries are just 45 meters.
