Ever since BCCI made it clear that India won't be playing a Day/Night Test in Australia during the full tour there this Australian summer, the reactions from all over the world are pouring in. There are sections that are putting it on BCCI's innate conservatism and yet, there are people that think it is in India's best interest to play in the conditions that best suite them on a really tough tour. 

Michael Clarke, the former Australian Captain though, believes in the later. Clarke has stated that "I think India feel like they know the conditions that will suit them best to beat Australia. Remember India have never beaten Australia ever in Australia. This is their chance," 

BCCI were in talks with Cricket Australia for a long time to play the traditional Day/Night Test in Adelaide but it didn't materialize. The Indian team management led by head coach Ravi Shastri and Captain Virat Kohli told the BCCI and the Committee of Administrators (CoA) that the team will take at least 18 months to prepare for the day-night Test.

Clarke gauging the details of India's intentions, said, "If India plays during the day, the wicket is flatter and spin a little bit more. At night there is no spin, there is moisture and bit more movement. So India prefers to take their chances during the day like they have played every other Test match throughout their careers."

India have never won a Test series in Australia, and hence want to give themselves their best chance to win one this time.
