According to reports, Shardul Thakur, the right-arm fast bowler for India, his parents have got injured while going on a bike in Palghar in an accident.

The parents of 27-year-old Shardul Thakur's parents got injured when their bike skidded off the road. They were then rushed to the Dr. Dhawale Charitable Hospital at Palghar. Narendra Thakur, Shardul's father, was later shifted to Leelavati hospital as a brain clot was detected.

Narendra and Hounsa, Shardul's mother, were returning to the Mahim village for home after attending a wedding in Alyali in Palghar. Road construction work was going on near Sundaram school and Narendra, who was riding the bike could not see the road construction work as the area has no streetlights, it hampered his vision and bike imbalanced.

The locals saw them and helped by rushing to the near hospital where the doctor gauged a blood clot via scans and shifted Shardul's father to Leelavati Hospital.

The concerned medical person has been quoted saying about it as, “The patient is diabetic with hypertension and already had undergone two heart surgeries and suffered intracranial bleeding (intern bleeding of skull and brain) and was vomiting, hence we advised him to be shifted to the Mumbai hospital while his wife has been discharged as she suffered minor injuries”

Shardul who is currently playing for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League quickly went to see his parents.
