As the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) made it clear that India won't be playing any Day/Night Test in Adelaide, Australia this year. Cricket Australia it is learned has got Srilanka to agree for playing the occasion in their summer this year.

CA spokesperson was recently quoted saying that, "We can confirm that we have received advice from the BCCI that it is not prepared to participate in a proposed Day-Night Test in Adelaide this summer,"

Further, it was stated, "Whilst we appreciate some Adelaide fans may be disappointed, we know how popular the Adelaide Test is and look forward to hosting India there in December. We are committed to hosting at least one day-night Test each home summer as part of our continued focus to grow Test cricket, and we are excited about the Day-Night Test against Sri Lanka at the Gabba in January,"

According to the current International Cricket Council (ICC) Playing conditions, a home nation can only host a day-night Test match "with the agreement of the visiting board"

India has made it clear that the Adelaide Test for the Border-Gavaskar series will be played with the traditional red ball and in regular hours.

Australia has played four pink-ball Tests - New Zealand(2015), Pakistan(2016), South Africa(2016), England(2017) - and has won all of them. It is considered to be a big reason behind India's refusal, that they don't want to start off a marquee series at a disadvantage having not played any international pink ball Day/Night Test match. It's a self-inflicted situation though, as BCCI continues to look at this innovation with conservatism.

India and Bangladesh remain the only two countries to have not played a Day/Night Test.
