Team India’s schedule after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League will see them playing a one-off Test against Afghanistan and then embarking on a tour to Ireland and England for 2 T20Is against Ireland and 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 5 Tests against England.
In order to prepare well for the England sojourn, many Indian cricketers are playing in the English county championship and even Virat Kohli has signed up with Surrey for English county experience. He will miss the Afghanistan Test in order to play in English conditions.
In an effort to provide similar experiences to all of the players who will be England bound, BCCI has decided to send an India A squad to England, as soon as the Afghanistan Test ends. This India A team will play some four-day matches in England and a tri-series featuring England A and West Indies A teams.
